Typegodkendelsen af Euro 4 motorcykler og knallerter får nu forlænget registreringsfrist. Europa-Parlamentet har vedtaget en forordning, som indeholder en mulighed for at søge om forlænget registreringsfrist for Euro 4 køretøjer.  

Kommissionen har, som følge af den særlige situation som COVID-19 har medført, gjort det muligt at få tilladelse til at markedsføre, registrere og ibrugttage køretøjer omfattet af forordningen, som har en typegodkendelse, der mister sin gyldighed den 1. januar 2021. Tilladelsen giver mulighed for at markedsføre, registrere og ibrugtage køretøjerne inden den 31. december 2021.  

Det er et krav for at få denne tilladelse, at antallet af køretøjer, der søges tilladelse til ikke overstiger det antal køretøjer, som var på lager den 15. marts 2020, samt at antallet af tilladelser ikke overstiger antallet af køretøjer, som ikke længere har en gyldig typegodkendelse efter 1. januar 2021. Herudover er det et krav, at fabrikanten påfører typeattesten en særlig påtegning som kvalificerer dem som ”2021-restkøretøj”.
