En ny kampagne fra Arbejdstilsynet sætter fokus på den farlige røg, der laves, når man svejser eksempelvis karrosseridele på biler. Årsagen til kampagnen er, at svejserøg og gasser er den hyppigste årsag til anmeldelse af luftvejssygdomme i metal- og maskinindustrien, der i værste fald kan udvikle sig til kræft.

Nicky Bobak, eftermarkedschef hos AutoBranchen Danmark, er glad for, at der bliver sat fokus på området.

“Nogle tror måske, at de hverken skader dem selv eller kollegerne, hvis bare de står for dem selv eller åbner vinduer og døre for fuld hammer, når de svejser karrosseridele. Men det hjælper ikke noget, for gasser fra svejsninger er lige så farlige, som den synlige røg, og derfor skal man tage det meget alvorligt”, siger Nicky Bobak.

• Svejse- og skærerøg indeholder irritative gasser og en række tungmetaller, der tilsammen kan give kronisk bronkitis, astma og kræft i luftvejene, hvis forureningen ikke fjernes effektivt.
• Der kan opstå særlig sundhedsfarlig luftforurening, hvis elektroder, grundmateriale eller belægning på grundmateriale indeholder f.eks. zink, kobber, bly, cadmium eller chrom.
• Særlig sundhedsfare kan også opstå, hvis der anvendes flus- og bejsemidler og CO₂-spray.

Punktudsugning er vejen frem

Derfor er det vigtigt, at den pågældende person, som svejser, bruger punktudsugning – også kendt som lavtryksudsugning. Punktudsugningen fanger nemlig foruden røgen også gassen ozon, som dannes ved svejsningen.

“Lavtryksudsugningen indfanger forureningen effektivt fra det område, hvor der arbejdes. Man placerer blot sin udsugning skråt over arbejdsstedet og den karrosseridel, man arbejder på, så den termiske effekt fra udsugningen udnyttes bedst muligt”, forklarer Nicky Bobak fra AutoBranchen Danmark.
